Hans Dau is the Managing Partner of the Mitchell Madison Group. Over his 20-year consulting career, he has served C-level executives of large public companies, private equity firms and other institutions. He has worked in Europe, Asia and North America with a focus on devising creative solutions for complex issues and unlocking substantial value for his clients and their shareholders.
Hans has deep expertise in Strategic Sourcing, having assisted many Global 1000 clients in managing direct and indirect expense categories. He has invented novel approaches to pricing complex goods and services that have resulted in enormous savings to his clients. For example, he helped a major insurance company manage $500M in legal expenses by introducing an industry-first lifetime cost per case model that produced 35% savings.
Hans also drives MMG’s Business Analytics practice having worked on several successful big data and machine learning projects, such as launching a major online dating business, advising a fashion retailer on a recommender system and developing a sales effectiveness and pricing optimization machine learning model for a large telecom company.
Prior to the Mitchell Madison Group, Hans was a senior vice president and co-founder of an enterprise software company and an equity analyst for Deutsche Bank in New York.
He received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a degree in business and economics from the University of Mannheim, Germany. He is a dual citizen of the US and Germany and currently resides in Jackson Hole, WY.
In his free time, he enjoys exploring the less populated and harder to reach places of the great outdoors with his two sons either on foot or behind the wheel of an unstoppable military Unimog camper.
