Steve Demers is a Data Scientist at the Mitchell Madison Group. Steve has consulted and been scientist in a wide variety of industries and has performed ground breaking research in many fields.

Steve has supervised work in the movie industry and consulted for most of the major studios to improve their capabilities and efficiency. He has engineered novel workflows that enabled some of the most iconic films of the past twenty years such as ‘The Matrix’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’. He has also directed large teams of engineers and artists in the special effects industry that have been awarded numerous Academy Awards and Technical Achievement Oscars.

In his time at Caltech he worked with numerous research groups in the applied sciences as well as Fortune 500 companies involving an array of projects such as photovoltaics and armor plating. This necessitated extending the reach of then current state-of-the-art computational physics approaches. He has also been involved in projects with nano-structured materials, augmented reality, computer vision, and perceptual psychology.

Steve received his PhD from Caltech, M.S. from the University of Southern California, and B.S. from Cornell University. In his spare time he enjoys informal filmmaking and playing poker with various B and C-listers (he will name-drop at the slightest provocation).
